How to grease your mountain bike correctly
"Good lubrication is good driving", as the old saying goes. But it's not quite that simple. We tell you which care products to use to treat which parts of your bike.

Just as you regularly take your car to the garage for servicing, your mountain bike also needs regular maintenance. The chain needs to be oiled, otherwise it will grind. The bearings need to be lubricated, otherwise they will eventually stop working. And one or two other parts on the bike regularly need a portion of grease. We show you how to look after your bike properly and which parts you should definitely lubricate:

Grease bearings in the hub and headset: Bearing greases are pressure-resistant and have a higher viscosity, meaning they adhere more tenaciously. Open headsets and conical bearing hubs are lubricated. This also includes historic open bottom brackets. Ball-bearing rear triangles also require a grease pack if they are not sealed.

BIKE tips for lubrication:

1. thoroughly clean the components to be lubricated beforehand, otherwise a grinding paste will form

2. keep oils, greases and other lubricants far away from the brakes

3. better not to lubricate than to lubricate incorrectly.
