Now it's time to get down to business. We'll show you all the details, tips and wrenching tricks on the workshop topics of drive, disc brake and wheel.

In addition to detailed assembly instructions, you will also find important data and dimensions for the drivetrain, disc brake and wheel assemblies - to ensure that your wrenching sessions continue to be a success in the future.

Many suppliers, many installation standards

The range of parts and accessories is just as diverse and colourful as the bike world. Unfortunately, not everything always fits together - because many different suppliers also have many different solutions. Anyone who has tried to merge a new tuning part with their beloved bike and failed by just a few millimetres knows what we are talking about. There is no end in sight to the variety, as new standards are still being added. The 1 inch, 1 1/4 inch and 1 1/8 inch fork dimensions have been joined by the relatively new 1.5 inch dimension. In addition to the international and postmount standard, there is also a longer postmount standard for large discs for the disc brake mounts on the fork. Who is supposed to keep track of all this?

The sense and benefits of this development are beyond question. However, the object "mountain bike" in all its individual parts is subject to constant change. So if you want to upgrade your old bike or install older parts on a new frame, you need to know exactly what can be combined and how. Detailed knowledge is therefore also required in the hobby workshop.
