Dirty work: How to get your mountain bike clean again
Dirty work: How to get your mountain bike clean again
Mud, dust, rain: a mountain bike has to do some real dirty work. With these helpers, your favourite bike will shine again in all its glory.

According to the survey, 53 per cent of our readers clean their bikes with water and a garden hose and use cleaning agents, sponges and brushes. Only 9.3% tackle the dirt with a high-pressure cleaner and more than 80 bar pressure. Unfortunately, this often not only removes the grime from the frame, but also washes the grease from the bearings.

So it's sparkling clean:

Cleaners will be licking their fingers after this cleaning set. The spray loosens the dirt, which is then scrubbed off by four different brushes. Finally, the extra-absorbent sponge is used to wipe the bike clean and the bike spray is used to preserve it before the next mud pack. Price 49.95 euros.

Dr Wack F100 bicycle cleaner / pressure sprayer

Has proven itself clean: The adhesive gel from Dr Wack has no mercy on dirt and grease. However, its content is unproblematic for metal and carbon and is also organic! If you're afraid of cramps in your fingers, buy the practical pressurised pump sprayer and spray away. Price: 15.99 / 19.99 euros.

Finish Line The Grunge Brush

The grunge brush really gets to grips with the chain and attacks heavily soiled chain links from three sides. The rear brush is perfect for the derailleur pulleys. If the bristles are worn, they can simply be replaced. Remove the old bristles, insert the new ones and the chain is back in the mangle. Price: 15.99 euros.

Clean2Go Spray'n'Go

How do you like this article?

Viscous as honey, this cleaner sticks to the bike, even on vertical surfaces nothing drips! This allows it to work for an extra long time. Dynamic molecular structures are supposed to infiltrate the dirt. This may sound a lot like marketing propaganda, but it works surprisingly well. The price: 9.95 euros.

Kärcher Mobile Outdoor Cleaner oc 3
Until now, anyone who wanted to clean their bike needed two things: a water connection and a power socket. The OC 3 cleans completely independently thanks to its rechargeable battery, spray head with 2.8 metre hose and integrated water tank. Its 4-litre tank is just enough for one bike, the battery for 15 minutes of Kärcher fun. Price: 159 euros.

Liquy Moly gloss spray wax

Wow, how shiny it is! Freshly cleaned, even the old carrot looks good again - until you heat through the first puddle. The old shine can be preserved a little longer with a wax. Simply spray on, leave to work and polish. The water then rolls off the frame like a lotus flower. Price: 14.99 euros.
