Briefly explained: Fitting the SRAM Matchmaker clamp
A tidy cockpit creates space for additional equipment such as GPS, helmet camera etc. and scores points for the bike's appearance. We show you how to fit the SRAM Matchmaker clamp correctly.

In BIKE 8/12 we went into detail on how to convert to Shimano's I-Spec clamp. This costs 39.95 euros for the XT, while the retrofit kit for the XTR costs 69.95 euros. Next year, there will also be an I-Spec solution for Shimano's SLX groupset.

In contrast to Shimano, the clamp cure works much faster and easier with SRAM shifters and Avid brakes. A set of the latest Matchmaker clamps costs 54 euros. It is called Matchmaker X and is compatible with all shifters and the current brakes of the XX, X0, Elixir 9, Elixir 7 and Elixir 5. The clamp is also available individually for 27 euros and in the colours black and silver.
