Trek Slash 9.8 GX AXS Gen 5

The "Slash 9.8 GX AXS Gen 5" model from Trek, released in 2021, is a high-quality mountain bike available at a price of 7,599 EUR. The frame is constructed from OCLV Mountain Carbon for the main frame and seat stays, ensuring high stability and low weight. It features an internal storage compartment, a tapered head tube and Knock Block 2.0 technology. The frame also features internal Control Freak cable routing, Carbon Armor, a Shuttle-Guard and a threaded bottom bracket compliant with the ISCG 05 standard. The seat tube has a diameter of 34.9 mm and the magnesium derailleur hanger provides additional robustness. Riding dynamics are optimised by the Mino Link and the ABP (Active Braking Pivot) system.

The bike’s maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst its kerb weight is 14 kg. The braking system consists of SRAM Code R hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes at the front and rear, with SRAM CenterLine discs (180 mm diameter, 6-hole mounting and rounded edges). The shifter is a SRAM GX Eagle AXS with 12 speeds. The RockShox ZEB Select+ fork offers excellent suspension performance with its DebonAir spring, Charger 2.1 RC damping system and 170 mm of travel.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Line Elite 30 rims made from OCLV Mountain Carbon, which are tubeless-ready and feature a 6-hole disc mount. The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with austenitic struts and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is a Bontrager Line Elite Dropper with a 150 mm travel and MaxFlow technology.
