Trek Marlin 7 Gen 2

The "Marlin 7 Gen 2" model from Trek, released in 2022, is a versatile and high-performance mountain bike, available for 924 EUR. The frame is made from Alpha Silver aluminium and features internal cable routing, a disc brake mount on the chainstay, luggage rack eyelets and a kickstand mount. The quick-release axle measures 135 x 5 mm. Weighing 13 kg and with a maximum load capacity of 136 kg, the bike offers a solid and robust build.

The Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes provide reliable braking performance at both the front and rear. The brake discs feature a 6-hole mounting and have a diameter of 180 mm at the front and 160 mm at the rear. The Shimano Deore M4100 shifter enables precise gear changes across 10 speeds.

The RockShox Judy fork with coil spring offers 100 mm of travel and is fitted with adjustable spring preload and a TurnKey lockout. The fork is designed for 29-inch wheels and has a 46 mm offset and a 100 mm quick-release axle.

The bike is fitted with VP-536 nylon platform pedals and features an FSA Alpha Drive crankset with a steel chainring (28 t.) and a length of 175 mm. The Shimano Deore M4100 sprocket has a range of 11–46 teeth and is also designed for 10-speed cassettes. Power is transmitted via a KMC X10 chain.

The handlebars are made of aluminium, measure 720 mm in width and have a 5 mm rise. The grips are Bontrager XR Trail Comp with nylon clamps. The stem is a Bontrager Comp model, which is Blendr-compatible, has a diameter of 31.8 mm, an angle of 7 degrees and a length of 90 mm. The headset is semi-integrated and has a diameter of 1 1/8".

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Connection hollow-wall rims with an internal width of 20 mm and Presta valves. The hubs are made of aluminium; at the front is the Formula DC-20 with a 5 x 100 mm quick-release axle, and at the rear is the Formula DC-22 with a Shimano 8/9/10-speed freehub and a 135 x 5 mm quick-release axle.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada model with steel rails and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is also made of aluminium, has a diameter of 31.6 mm, a 12 mm offset and a length of 400 mm.

The packaging dimensions are 22 mm wide, 79 mm high and 148 mm long. The bike has a reach of 47 mm, a stack of 63 mm, a seat tube length of 52 mm, a top tube length of 66 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees, a seat tube angle of 72 degrees, a head tube length of 12 mm, a chainstay length of 44 mm, a standover height of 77 mm and a wheelbase of 116 mm.
