Trek Marlin 6 Gen 2

The 2022 "Marlin 6 Gen 2" model from Trek is a versatile mountain bike available at a price of 724 EUR. The frame is made from Alpha Silver aluminium and features internal cable routing as well as a disc brake mount on the chainstay. The frame is also fitted with luggage rack eyelets and a kickstand mount. The quick-release axle measures 135 x 5 mm.

The Marlin 6 Gen 2 has a maximum load capacity of 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 14 kg. The brakes are Tektro HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes, fitted to both the front and rear. A Shimano Deore M4100 shifter with 10 speeds handles the gear changes. The fork is an SR Suntour XCT 30 with a coil spring, adjustable spring preload and hydraulic lockout. It offers 100 mm of travel and is designed for 29" wheels.

The pedals are VP-536 nylon platform pedals, and the crankset consists of a Prowheel C10Y-NW with a narrow-wide steel chainring (30 teeth) and a crank arm length of 170 mm. The cassette is a Shimano Deore M4100 with 11–46 teeth and a 10-speed range. The drivetrain is completed by a KMC X10 chain for 10-speed cassettes.

The handlebars are 720 mm wide Bontrager aluminium bars with a 5 mm rise and a diameter of 31.8 mm. The grips are Bontrager XR Endurance Comp. The stem is also by Bontrager and Blendr-compatible, with a diameter of 31.8 mm, a 7-degree angle and a length of 70 mm. The headset is semi-integrated and measures 1 1/8".

The tyres are Bontrager XR2 Comp in size 29 x 2.20 (27.5 x 2.20 for frame sizes XS and S). The wheelset consists of Formula aluminium hubs and Bontrager Connection rims. The rims are hollow-section rims with 32 holes and an internal width of 20 mm.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with steel rails and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is made of aluminium, has a diameter of 31.6 mm, a 12 mm offset and a length of 330 mm.
