Trek Fuel EXe 9.7

The 2023 "Fuel EXe 9.7" model from Trek is a high-quality mountain bike designed for demanding riders. The price for this model is 9,099 EUR. The frame is made from OCLV Mountain Carbon and features a removable battery and internal cable routing. The aluminium derailleur hanger and the 34.9 mm seat tube diameter provide additional stability. Further features of the frame include a mount for an upper chain guide, a 55 mm chainline, the Mino Link system, ABP (Active Braking Pivot), Boost148 and UDH (Universal Derailleur Hanger). The bike offers 140 mm of suspension travel.

The bike’s maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 19 kg. The braking system consists of Shimano hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes (M6100 brake levers and M6120 calipers) at both the front and rear. Both brakes are fitted with Shimano RT66 discs (203 mm, 6-hole disc mount).

The rear derailleur and shift levers are from the Shimano SLX M7100 groupset and offer a 12-speed drivetrain. The fork is a FOX Rhythm 36 with Float EVOL air spring, GRIP damping, a tapered steerer tube, 44 mm offset, a Boost110 15 mm Kabolt axle and 150 mm of travel. The crankset is an Ethirteen Espec Plus with a crank arm length of 170 mm, whilst the cassette is also from the Shimano SLX M7100 range and offers a range of 10–51 teeth.

The handlebars are aluminium Bontrager Line with a width of 780 mm and a rise of 27.5 mm. The grips are Bontrager XR Trail Elite with nylon clamps. The stem is a Bontrager Elite with a length of 45 mm and an angle of 0 degrees. The wheelset consists of Bontrager Line Comp 30, Tubeless Ready, with Rapid Drive 108, Boost 110 at the front and Boost 148 at the rear, as well as 15 mm and 12 mm thru-axles respectively.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with austenitic struts and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is a TranzX JD-YSP39 with a 100 mm travel and internal cable routing. The motor is from TQ (model HPR50) and delivers a maximum torque of 50 Nm, as well as a maximum continuous power output of 250 W and a peak power output of 300 W. The battery has a capacity of 360 Wh.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 43 mm, a stack of 62 mm, a seat tube length of 38 mm, a top tube length of 57 mm, a head tube angle of 65 degrees, a seat tube angle of 69 degrees, a head tube length of 10 mm, a chainstay length of 44 mm, a standover height of 73 mm and a wheelbase of 119 mm.
