Trek Dual Sport+ 2 Stagger

The "Dual Sport+ 2 Stagger" model from Trek, released in 2023, is a versatile e-bike that stands out thanks to a range of technical features and high-quality components. The price for this model is 2,199 EUR.

The frame of the Dual Sport+ 2 Stagger is made from Alpha Gold aluminium and features internal cable routing and an integrated battery. The frame also features rack and mudguard mounts, a flat-mount disc brake mount, a side stand mount and a 144.5 mm mounting width for the hub motor. The maximum permissible weight is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs in at 17 kg.

The Shimano Altus M2010 shifter is used for the gear system, enabling 9-speed shifting. The bike’s fork is also made of aluminium and features internal brake cable routing as well as mudguard and luggage rack eyelets. A 5 mm ThruSkew quick-release axle provides additional stability.

The lighting comprises a Herrmans MR4 LED front light with 120 lumens and a Spanninga SOLO rear light. The crankset is from ProWheel Pro and is made of aluminium, featuring a narrow-wide steel chainring (42 teeth) and a crank arm length of 175 mm. The cassette is a Shimano HG200 with 11–36 teeth and is also a 9-speed system. The drivetrain is supported by a KMC E9S chain.

The handlebars are a Bontrager aluminium model with a width of 690 mm and a rise of 15 mm, whilst the grips are Bontrager XR Endurance Comp with screw-on clamps. The stem is also from Bontrager (Comp model) and is Blendr-compatible, with a 7-degree angle and a length of 100 mm.

The wheelset consists of Bontrager Connection hollow-section rims with an internal width of 20 mm and a 32-hole configuration. The front hub is a Formula DC-20 made of aluminium with a 6-hole disc mount and a 5 x 100 mm quick-release axle; the rear hub is a Hyena motor hub with 40 Nm of torque and 250 W of power.

The saddle is a Bontrager Sport Women’s model, mounted on a Bontrager aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm, a 12 mm offset and a length of 400 mm. The saddle clamp is a bolt-on type with a diameter of 36.4 mm. The kickstand is a Pletscher Comp 18.

The integrated battery has a capacity of 252 Wh and is compatible with a range extender. The battery is charged using a charger that delivers an output of 2 A at 42 V and is suitable for input voltages between 100 V and 240 V AC.

The bike’s packaging dimensions are 23 mm wide, 118 mm high and 201 mm long.
