Trek District 2 Equipped Lowstep

Trek’s 2023 ‘District 2 Equipped Lowstep’ model offers a solid combination of comfort, safety and functionality at a price of 1,099 EUR. The frame is made of aluminium, giving the bike a robust yet lightweight structure. The maximum load capacity is 136 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 18 kg.

Braking is provided at the front and rear by a Shimano Nexus C3000 roller brake, operated via the Shimano Nexus BL-C6010 brake lever. Gear changes are controlled via a Shimano Nexus Revo 7-speed shifter, which enables precise gear selection. The fork is a Forklight 3.0 with an integrated 50-lux headlight and offers 40 mm of suspension travel for added comfort on uneven roads.

Lighting is provided by the Herrmans H-Trace Dynamo ECO-LED front light, which ensures good visibility in the dark. The pedals are non-slip and fitted with reflectors, offering additional safety. The crankset consists of a Prowheel PR-115 with a steel chainring (38 t.) and a 170 mm crank arm length. Power is transmitted via a KMC S1 chain, whilst the sprocket has 18 teeth.

The handlebars are made of aluminium, have a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm, a rise of 25 mm and a width of 630 mm. The ergonomic Herrmans Clik grips with clamps ensure a comfortable grip. The stem is an adjustable Bontrager aluminium stem with a length of 85 mm and Blendr compatibility.

The headset is semi-integrated with a semi-compact bearing and a diameter of 1 1/8". The wheelset consists of Bontrager Connection hollow-section rims with a 36-hole configuration and an internal width of 20 mm. The hub dynamo is a Shimano Nexus with 3 watts of power, which powers the lights.

The saddle is a Selle Royal Nuvola, mounted on an aluminium seatpost with adjustable spring preload, which is 300 mm long and has a diameter of 27.2 mm. The mudguards are made from SKS plastic, providing protection against dirt and splash water. The kickstand is a Pletscher Comp Flex 18, and the luggage rack is MIK-compatible, made from aluminium with a maximum load capacity of 25 kg.

The packaging dimensions are 21 mm wide, 119 mm high and 189 mm long. The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 38 mm, a stack of 64 mm, a seat tube length of 50 mm, a top tube length of 59 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees, a seat tube angle of 72 degrees, a head tube length of 17 mm, a chainstay length of 47 mm, a standover height of 48 mm and a wheelbase of 110 mm.
