Trek 1120

The 2023 Trek 1120 is a versatile bike designed for challenging adventures and tours. It is available at a price of 3,499 EUR and offers a wide range of technical features and high-quality components.

The 1120’s frame is made from Alpha Platinum aluminium and features a tapered head tube as well as internal cable routing for the gears and Vario seatpost. The in-house-developed luggage rack mounts and horizontally adjustable dropouts provide additional flexibility. The frame is also fitted with a Boost148 12 mm thru-axle and is rated for a maximum load of 136 kg. The bike itself weighs 14 kg.

The 1120’s braking system consists of Shimano hydraulic 4-piston disc brakes at both the front and rear. The MT4100 brake levers and MT420 brake calipers, combined with the Shimano RT56 180 mm discs, ensure reliable braking performance in all conditions.

The Shimano SLX M7100 groupset is used for the drivetrain, offering a 12-speed setup. The crankset also comprises Shimano SLX M7100 components, featuring a 30-tooth aluminium chainring with a 52 mm chainline. The cassette has a range of 10 to 51 teeth, allowing for a wide range of gears.

The bike’s fork is an 1120 HCM carbon fork with rack and mudguard mounts, as well as a Boost110 15 mm thru-axle. The handlebars are aluminium Bontrager Comp bars, 720 mm wide with a 5 mm rise. The grips are Bontrager XR Endurance Comp, whilst the stem is a Bontrager Elite with a clamp diameter of 31.8 mm and a length of 60 mm.

The wheelset consists of SUNringlé Duroc 50 SL rims with tubeless rim tape, an internal width of 50 mm and Presta valves. The hubs are made of aluminium, with sealed bearings and a 6-hole disc mount.

The saddle is a Bontrager Arvada with CrMo tubular rails and a width of 138 mm. The seatpost is a Bontrager Line Dropper with a 100 mm drop and internal cable routing. It has a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length of 345 mm.

In addition, the bike features an 1120 Adventure luggage rack system with pack bag mounts, making it ideal for long tours and adventures. The mudguards are also part of the Adventure luggage system.

With a seat tube length of 39 mm, a top tube length of 56 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees and a seat tube angle of 74 degrees, the bike offers balanced geometry for a comfortable ride. The wheelbase is 108 mm, the chainstay length is 44 mm and the standover height is 78 mm.

The Trek 1120 is therefore a well-equipped adventure bike that performs impressively on both long tours and in everyday use.
