Stevens Esprit Gent

The “Esprit Gent” model from Stevens, launched in 2020, is a high-quality trekking bike characterised by its robust construction and well-thought-out features. The bike is priced at 1399 EUR. The frame is made from 6061 TB aluminium, which gives the bike high stability and a moderate weight of 14 kg. The maximum load capacity is 130 kg, ensuring additional safety and durability.

For the braking system, Stevens has opted for Shimano BR-MT400 hydraulic disc brakes, complemented by Shimano BL-MT401 brake levers, which guarantee reliable and precise braking performance. The bike is fitted with the Shimano Deore XT Trekking Shadow RD-T8000-SGS, a 3x10-speed rear derailleur. The Shimano Deore SL-M6000 shift levers and the Shimano Deore Trekking FD-T6000-L3L front derailleur contribute to precise and smooth gear changes.

The Esprit Gent’s fork is an SR Suntour NCX-D LO Air with 63 mm of travel, which effectively absorbs shocks and bumps, thereby enhancing riding comfort. Lighting is provided by the B+M Eyc T Senso+ front light (50 lux) and the Shine Evo rear light, both of which are powered by the Shutter Precision PL-8 dynamo.

The bike is fitted with ATB Alu Pro Reflex pedals and features a BSA 68 mm bottom bracket as well as a Shimano FC-T551 crankset with 48-36-26 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG500 with 10-speed gearing. The Oxygen Scorpo handlebars are 640 mm wide and are paired with the Oxygen Scorpo stem. The headset is the STEVENS AH Taper 1 1/8"–1 1/2".

The rims are Oxygen PRO-D A19, measuring 19 x 622, fitted with Schwalbe Marathon Racer tyres in size 40-622. The hubs consist of a Shutter Precision PL-8 dynamo at the front and a Shimano Deore XT hub at the rear. The Selle Royal Freccia Gent saddle and the Oxygen Scorpo seatpost ensure additional riding comfort.

SKS mudguards are fitted to protect against dirt and water, whilst the Pletscher Comp kickstand ensures the bike stands securely. The Racktime Shine Evo RTA luggage rack offers ample space for luggage, making it ideal for longer tours or everyday use.
