Stevens 7X Gent

The “7X Gent” model from Stevens, released in 2020, is a high-quality trekking bike priced at 1299 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from SL 6061 TB aluminium, which contributes to a total weight of just 12 kg and allows for a maximum load capacity of 130 kg.

For the braking system, Stevens has opted for Shimano BR-M6000 disc brakes, which, in combination with the Shimano BL-T6000 trekking brake levers, deliver reliable braking performance. The gear system comprises the Shimano Deore XT Trekking Shadow RD-T8000-SGS rear derailleur with 3x10 speeds, controlled by Shimano Deore SL-M6000 shift levers. The front derailleur is a Shimano Deore Trekking FD-T6000-H3L, which enables precise and rapid gear changes.

The SR Suntour NRX-D LO Air fork, with 63 mm of travel, ensures comfort and control on uneven terrain. The ATB Alu Comp Reflex pedals and the BSA 68 mm bottom bracket round off the high-quality specification. The crankset consists of a Shimano FC-T551 with 48-36-26-tooth chainrings, whilst the cassette is a Shimano CS-HG500 with 10-speed gearing.

For steering and handling, the bike features an Oxygen Scorpo handlebar with a width of 640 mm and a matching Oxygen Scorpo stem. The headset is a STEVENS AH Taper 1 1/8"-1 1/2". The rims are Oxygen PRO-D A19, 19 x 622, fitted with Schwalbe Smart Sam Performance tyres in size 42-622. The hubs are also Shimano Deore XT, which contributes to the bike’s durability and robustness.

The saddle is an Oxygen Havoc, mounted on an Oxygen Scorpo seatpost, which provides additional comfort on longer rides. Overall, the Stevens 7X Gent offers a well-thought-out combination of high-quality components and sophisticated design, ideal for demanding trekking tours.
