Scott Speedster Gravel 40 EQ

The 2022 "Speedster Gravel 40 EQ" model from Scott is a versatile gravel bike that stands out for its robust construction and high-quality components. The frame is made from Speedster Gravel Disc / D.Butted 6061 aluminium and features a special SCOTT gravel geometry. The frame is also fitted with a replaceable derailleur hanger, internal cable routing and is ready for Syncros mudguards. The maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs in at 11 kg.

Optimal braking performance is provided by Shimano BR-RS305 mechanical disc brakes combined with 160 mm Shimano SM-RT64 brake discs on both the front and rear wheels. The drivetrain consists of the Shimano Tiagra RD-4700-GS 20-speed rear derailleur, controlled by Shimano Tiagra ST-4700 Dual Control shift levers. The front derailleur is also a Shimano Tiagra FD-4700. The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-RS500, and the crankset, featuring Hyperdrive technology, offers a gear ratio of 50x34 teeth. The Speedster Gravel 40 EQ’s fork is made from Speedster Gravel Alloy with a flat-mount disc and a 1 1/4"-1 1/2" eccentric aluminium steerer tube. The handlebars are aluminium Syncros Creston 2.0 X with a diameter of 31.8 mm, whilst the stem is a Syncros RR2.5 with four bolts and also a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is an Acros AIF-1113, and the stem length is 103 mm.

The bike is fitted with Syncros Race 24 Disc rims, each with 28 spokes on the front and rear wheels. The tyres are Schwalbe G-ONE Bite Performance in size 700x40C. The hubs are Formula Team II CL Disc with 28 spoke holes, and the spokes themselves are black and 2 mm thick. The saddle is a Syncros Tofino Regular 2.5, mounted on a Syncros RR2.5 seatpost measuring 27.2/350 mm. Syncros mudguards are fitted to protect against dirt and water.

The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 392 mm, a stack of 589 mm, a seat tube length of 560 mm and a top tube length of 571 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees, and the seat tube angle is 73 degrees. The head tube length is 163 mm, the chainstay length is 439 mm and the bottom bracket drop is 71 mm. The fork offset is 50 mm, the top tube height is 825 mm, the fork installation height is 399 mm and the wheelbase measures 1056 mm in total, with a bottom bracket height of 283 mm.

The Scott Speedster Gravel 40 EQ thus offers a balanced combination of stability, comfort and performance for gravel riding and is available at a price of 1599 EUR. It is suitable for riders between 175 cm and 185 cm in height.
