Scott Speedster 50

The "Speedster 50" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a versatile road bike that stands out for its well-thought-out design and high-quality components. Priced at 799 EUR, it offers good value for money for both beginners and more experienced riders.

The Speedster 50’s frame is made from D.Butted 6061 aluminium and features endurance geometry, an integrated head tube and internal cable routing. This not only ensures an attractive appearance, but also improved aerodynamics and durability. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst it weighs just 10 kg, making it a lightweight yet robust companion.

The Speedster 50 is fitted with Tektro BR-315 brakes with cartridge pads (39–51 mm), which deliver reliable braking performance. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano RD-A070 14-speed rear derailleur, operated via Shimano ST-A070 Dual Control shifters. The front derailleur is also a Shimano FD-A070. These components ensure precise and smooth gear changes.

The fork is made from Speedster aluminium with a 1 1/8" aluminium steerer tube. The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-UN26, whilst the crankset is a Shimano FC-A070 with 50x34T. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG41 with 7 speeds (11–28T), and the drivetrain is completed by a KMC Z-7 chain.

The handlebars are Syncros Creston 2.0 Compact with a diameter of 31.8 mm, and the stem is a JD ST123A made of aluminium with a length of 83 mm. The headset consists of integrated steel cups. The Syncros Race 24 rims (24 at the front / 28 at the rear) are fitted with Schwalbe Lugano tyres (700x28C), which provide good grip and comfort. The hubs are Formula Comp (24 holes front, 28 holes rear), and the spokes are SHA-DAR Black 2 mm.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino Regular 2.5, mounted on a Syncros RR2.5 seatpost (27.2/350 mm). The bike’s gross weight is 15 g.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 383 mm, a stack of 529 mm, a seat tube length of 490 mm and a top tube length of 525 mm. The head tube angle is 71 degrees, the seat tube angle is 75 degrees, and the head tube length is 103 mm. The chainstay length is 425 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 70 mm, the fork offset is 45 mm, the standover height is 754 mm, the fork installation height is 395 mm, the wheelbase is 1008 mm and the bottom bracket height is 275 mm.

The Scott Speedster 50 XS49 is suitable for riders between 160 cm and 170 cm tall and offers a comfortable and efficient ride for a wide range of uses.
