Scott Speedster 40

The "Speedster 40" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a road bike that stands out for its high-quality materials and well-thought-out design. The frame is made from double-butted 6061 aluminium and features endurance geometry, an integrated head tube and internal cable routing. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 120 kg, whilst it weighs 10 kg.

The Speedster 40 is designed for riders between 175 cm and 185 cm in height. It is fitted with Tektro BR-315 brakes with cartridge pads, covering a range of 39–51 mm. The drivetrain features a Shimano Claris RD-R2000-GS with 16 speeds, whilst the shift levers are also from Shimano Claris (ST-R2000) and offer a dual-control function. The front derailleur is a Shimano Claris FD-R2000.

The fork is made from Speedster Alloy with a 1 1/8" aluminium steerer tube. The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-UN26, whilst the crankset is a Shimano Claris FC-RS2000 with 50x34 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG50 with 8 speeds and a gear ratio of 11-32 teeth. Power is transmitted via a KMC X8 chain.

The handlebars are Syncros Creston 2.0 Compact with a diameter of 31.8 mm, and the stem is a JD ST123A made of aluminium with four bolts and also a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset features integrated steel caps. The stem length is 103 mm.

The rims are Syncros Race 24, with 24 spokes at the front and 28 spokes at the rear. The tyres are Schwalbe Lugano in size 700x28C. The hubs are Formula Comp with 24 spokes at the front and 28 spokes at the rear, and the spokes are black SHA-DAR with a diameter of 2 mm.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino Regular 2.5, and the seatpost is a Syncros RR2.5 measuring 27.2/350 mm. The bike’s packaging dimensions are 21 mm wide, 79 mm high and 136 mm long, with a gross weight of 15 g.

The frame geometry comprises a reach of 385 mm, a stack of 593 mm, a seat tube length of 560 mm and a top tube length of 569 mm. The head tube angle is 73 degrees, the seat tube angle is 74 degrees, the head tube length is 163 mm, the chainstay length is 427 mm and the bottom bracket drop is 70 mm. The fork offset is 45 mm, the top tube height is 820 mm, the fork installation height is 395 mm, the wheelbase measures 1023 mm and the bottom bracket height is 275 mm.
