Scott Speedster 20

The "Speedster 20" model from Scott, released in 2021, is a versatile road bike that stands out for its high-quality components and well-thought-out geometry. The frame is made from 6061 D.Butted aluminium and features an endurance geometry optimised for long rides. The integrated head tube and internal cable routing contribute to a clean look and improved aerodynamics. Weighing just 9 kg, the Speedster 20 is one of the lighter models in its price range.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro BR-526 brakes with cartridge pads, which ensure reliable deceleration and control. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano Tiagra RD-4700-GS 20-speed rear derailleur, which enables precise and smooth gear changes. The drivetrain is complemented by Shimano Tiagra ST-4700 shift levers and a Shimano Tiagra FD-4700 front derailleur.

The Speedster 20’s fork is a Speedster carbon fork with a 1 1/8" to 1 1/4" carbon steerer tube, which helps to reduce the overall weight whilst offering high stiffness. The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-RS500-PB, and the crankset consists of a Shimano Tiagra FC-4700 Hyperdrive with 50x34 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG500 with 10 speeds and a range of 11–32 teeth.

The drivetrain is completed by a KMC X10 chain. The handlebars are Syncros Creston 2.0 Compact with a diameter of 31.8 mm, and the stem is a JD ST123A Alloy with four bolts and also a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset consists of integrated steel caps.

The rims are Syncros Race 24 with 24 spokes at the front and 28 spokes at the rear, which, in combination with the Schwalbe Lugano tyres in size 700x28C, ensure excellent road holding. The hubs are Formula Team, with 24 holes at the front and 28 holes at the rear. The spokes are black SHA-DAR with a diameter of 2 mm.

The saddle is a Syncros Tofino Regular 2.5, which offers comfort even on longer rides. The seatpost is a Syncros RR2.5, measuring 27.2 mm in diameter and 350 mm in length.

The 2021 Scott Speedster 20 thus offers a balanced combination of performance, comfort and reliability at a price of 999 EUR. It is aimed at ambitious leisure cyclists and beginners who value quality and riding enjoyment.
