The Spark 970’s frame is made from Spark 3 Alloy SL 6011, which, thanks to custom-butted hydroformed tubes, ensures an optimal balance between weight and stability. The frame features a tapered headtube and a BB92 bottom bracket. The dropouts are designed for a 5x141mm axle, and the bike is compatible with tyres up to 2.6" wide. The bike’s total weight is 14 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano MT201 disc brakes, fitted with a 180 mm diameter Shimano SM-RT10 CL brake disc at the front. The drivetrain consists of a SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed system, operated by a SRAM SX Eagle Trigger shifter. The drivetrain comprises a SRAM SX Eagle DUB Boost crankset with a 32-tooth chainring, as well as a SRAM SX-PG1210 cassette system with a range of 11–50 teeth.

The Spark 970’s suspension is provided by a RockShox Judy Silver TK Solo Air fork with 130 mm of travel and an X-Fusion NUDE RLX trunnion shock with 120 mm of travel. The fork features a 15x110mm QR axle, a 42mm offset and a tapered steerer tube. It offers two modes as well as rebound and lockout functions. The rear shock has been specially developed for Scott and offers three modes: Lockout, Traction Control and Descend.

The bottom bracket is an integrated SRAM DUB PF system housed in a 41x92mm shell. The handlebars are made from Syncros Alloy 6061 and are 760 mm wide, with a T-shape and a 9° backsweep. The grips are Syncros Pro lock-on grips. The stem is also made from Syncros 6061 alloy and has a diameter of 31.8 mm and an angle of 6°. The headset is a Syncros OE Press Fit system with a tapered design.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros X-25 rims with a width of 25 mm and are fitted with Maxxis Rekon tyres in size 2.4" with a 60 TPI casing. The hubs are by Formula: the CL-811 model at the front with a 15x110 mm axle, and the CL-2241 model at the rear with a 5x141 mm axle. The spokes are made of black stainless steel and have a gauge of 15G or 1.8 mm.

The saddle is a Syncros Belcarra Regular 2.5, mounted on a Syncros Duncan Dropper Post seatpost. The seatpost has a diameter of 31.6 mm and offers a 100 mm drop in size S, and a 120 mm drop in sizes M, L and XL.
