The 2021 "Scott Spark 970 granite black" is a high-quality mountain bike which, at a price of 1999 EUR, offers excellent value for money. The bike’s frame is made from Spark 3 Alloy SL 6011, a specially shaped and hardened aluminium, complemented by custom-butted hydroformed tubes and a tapered head tube. Weighing 14 kg, the bike is robust yet light enough for challenging trails.

The Spark 970’s braking system consists of Shimano MT201 disc brakes, fitted with a 180 mm Shimano SM-RT10 CL brake disc at the front. Gear changes are handled by a SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed system, operated via a SRAM SX Eagle trigger shifter. The drivetrain is supported by a SRAM SX Eagle chain and a SRAM SX-PG1210 cassette (11–50T), whilst the crankset consists of a SRAM SX Eagle DUB Boost with 32 teeth.

The bike’s suspension is provided by a RockShox Judy Silver TK Solo Air fork with 130 mm of travel, featuring a 15x110 mm QR axle, a 42 mm offset and a tapered steerer tube. The rear shock is an X-Fusion NUDE RLX Trunnion, which has been specially adapted for Scott and offers three modes (Lockout, Traction Control and Descend) as well as adjustable rebound. The shock has 120 mm of travel.

The bottom bracket is an integrated SRAM DUB PF with a 41x92mm shell. The handlebars are Syncros Alloy 6061 T-shape flat bars with a 9° rise and a width of 760mm, complemented by Syncros Pro lock-on grips. The stem is also made from Syncros Alloy 6061 and has a diameter of 31.8 mm with a 6° angle. The headset is a Syncros OE Press Fit with a tapered design.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros X-25 rims with 32 spokes and a width of 25 mm. The tyres are Maxxis Rekon with a width of 2.4" and a thread count of 60 TPI. The front hub is a Formula CL-811 with a 15x110 mm axle, and the rear hub is a Formula CL-2241 with a 5x141 mm axle. The spokes are made of black stainless steel and are 1.8 mm thick.

The saddle is a Syncros Belcarra Regular 2.5, mounted on a Syncros Duncan Dropper Post with a diameter of 31.6mm. The dropper post offers 100mm of travel in size S and 120mm of travel in sizes M, L and XL, a 120 mm drop.
