Scott Scale 960

The "Scale 960" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a high-quality mountain bike designed for demanding use. The price for this model is 1699 EUR. The Scale 960’s frame is made from Scale Alloy 6061 custom butted tubing and features a Boost 12x148mm axle, a tapered head tube and a BB92 bottom bracket. The frame also features internal cable routing and a replaceable derailleur hanger. The maximum rider weight is 128 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 12 kg.

The Scale 960 is suitable for riders between 195 cm and 205 cm in height. The brakes are Shimano MT401 disc brakes, fitted with a Shimano SM-RT10 CL 180 mm brake disc at the front and a Shimano SM-RT10 CL 160 mm brake disc at the rear. The drivetrain consists of an SRAM NX Eagle 12-speed system with an SRAM SX Eagle trigger shifter. The fork is a FOX 32 Float Rhythm Grip 3 with three modes, a 15x110 mm QR axle, a 44 mm offset and a tapered steerer tube. It offers 100 mm of travel.

The bottom bracket is a SRAM DUB PF 92 MTB with a shell size of 41x92 mm. The crankset consists of a SRAM NX Eagle DUB Boost with a 32T chainring. The cassette is an SRAM SX-PG1210 with a 11–50T range. The drivetrain is completed by an SRAM CN NX Eagle chain.

The Scale 960’s handlebars are Syncros Alloy 6061, with a width of 740 mm, a backsweep of 9 degrees and a T-shape. The stem is also made from Syncros Alloy 6061, has a diameter of 31.8 mm, a length of 1 1/8" and an angle of 6 degrees. The headset is a Syncros OE Press Fit E2, which is tapered (1.5"–1 1/8") and has dimensions of OD 50/62 mm and ID 44/56 mm.

The rims are Syncros with 32 spoke holes, whilst the tyres are Maxxis Rekon Race with a width of 2.25" and a TPI of 60. The hubs are from Formula: the CL-811 model at the front with an axle width of 15x110mm, and the CL-3248 model at the rear with an axle width of 12x148mm. The spokes are made of black stainless steel and have a thickness of 15G or 1.8mm.

The Scale 960’s saddle is a Syncros Belcarra Regular 2.5, fitted to a Syncros seatpost measuring 31.6x400mm. Further technical specifications include a gross weight of 17 g, a reach of 492 mm, a stack of 638 mm, a seat tube length of 580 mm and a top tube length of 660 mm. The head tube angle is 70 degrees, the seat tube angle is 74 degrees, the head tube length is 135 mm, the chainstay length is 440 mm, the bottom bracket drop is 58 mm and the fork offset is 51 mm. The top tube height is 874 mm, the fork installation height is 501 mm and the wheelbase measures 1120 mm in total. Finally, the bottom bracket height is 312 mm.
