Scott Scale 24 disc

The "Scale 24 Disc" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a high-quality junior mountain bike designed for young riders. It is available for 549 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from a robust aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and features a semi-integrated head tube (Semi int. HT) as well as SCOTT dropouts with the IS standard. The maximum rider weight is 50 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 12 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Tektro SCM-02 mechanical disc brakes, operated by Tektro TS325A brake levers. The brake discs have a diameter of 160 mm at both the front and rear. The gear system consists of a Shimano RD-TX800 Tourney 8-speed derailleur, operated via a Shimano SL-RS45-8R Revo shifter.

The SR Suntour XCT-JR 24 Disc suspension fork offers 50 mm of travel and is specially equipped with a softer spring configuration to maximise comfort for young riders. The pedals are MARWI SP-700s and feature reflectors for added safety. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 cartridge with a square taper.

The crankset consists of a Prowheel aluminium crank with a length of 140 mm and a 32-tooth chainring, which is protected by a double chain guard (CG PVG double cover). The cassette is a SunRace CSM55 with 8 speeds and a 11-34T range. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z8.3 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Junior Flat-Bar handlebars with a width of 560 mm, whilst the grips are Syncros Youth 100/80 Grips. The stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7130 with a length of 50 mm and a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm. The headset is a Feimin FP-H807, semi-integrated with a diameter of 1 1/8 inches.

The rims are Alex C-1000 Disc models, and the tyres are Kenda K1227 Booster, measuring 24x2.2" with a TPI of 30. The front hub is a Formula DC-19-F and the rear a Formula DC-25-8-R, both fitted with quick-release (QR) mechanisms. The spokes are made of black UCP steel with a gauge of 15G.

The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro and the seatpost is made of aluminium, measuring 26.8x300 mm. A handy kickstand is also included. The bike’s packaging is 22 mm wide, 67 mm high and 124 mm long, with a gross weight of 16 g. The bike is available in yellow and comes in a ‘one size’ fit.
