Scott Roxter 16

The "Roxter 16" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a high-quality children’s bike characterised by its robust construction and well-thought-out features. The bike’s frame is made from JR16 Coaster, an alloy 6061, and features a curved top tube and a semi-integrated head tube. The rigid BMX fork, made from HiTen steel, is designed for 16-inch wheels and fitted with V-brake pivots. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 50 kg, whilst it weighs a mere 8 kg.

The Roxter 16’s braking system comprises a V-brake at the front and a coaster brake at the rear, with the brake levers made from an aluminium alloy and specially designed for children’s hands. The drivetrain consists of a simple yet effective combination of a one-piece crank with 28 teeth and an 18-tooth sprocket. The chain drive uses a KMC S1 chain. The bottom bracket is made of steel and fitted with loose ball bearings.

The bike’s handlebars are Junior Mini Riser Bars with a width of 500 mm, whilst the stem is made from a lightweight aluminium alloy and has a length of 30 mm and a clamp size of 25.4 mm. The semi-integrated headset is 1 1/8 inches in size. The rims of the Roxter 16 are made from black aluminium and have 20 and 28 spoke holes respectively, laced with 15g UCP spokes in black.

The tyres are Kenda K841 Contact, measuring 16x2.25 inches, which provide both stability and good grip. The front hub is the KT-183F model with 20 spoke holes, whilst the rear hub is the KT-305RB model with 28 spoke holes and an integrated coaster brake. The Syncros Roxter JR16 saddle offers comfort for young riders, whilst the aluminium seatpost, measuring 26.8 x 200 mm, ensures a stable riding position.

The bike is also fitted with a practical kickstand. The bike’s gross weight is just 11 g more than its unladen weight, which highlights the lightweight construction. The model is available in one size and is priced at 379 EUR.
