Scott Gravel 400

The 2022 "Gravel 400" model from Scott is a versatile and robust bike designed specifically for off-road use. Priced at 999 EUR, it offers excellent value for money.

The Gravel 400’s frame is made from a lightweight yet sturdy aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and is designed for disc brakes. It features a semi-integrated head tube and special SCOTT dropouts with flat-mount brake mounts. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 70 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 9 kg, making it light and manoeuvrable.

The Gravel 400’s braking system consists of Tektro Disc Brake MD-C511 FM brakes, fitted with 140 mm brake discs at both the front and rear. This ensures reliable braking performance in a variety of conditions. The drivetrain is a Shimano Sora RD-R3000 with 18 speeds, operated by Shimano Sora ST-RS3000 shift levers. The front derailleur is also a Shimano Sora FD-R3000, enabling precise and rapid gear changes.

The bike is fitted with a Gravel Alloy fork, which features a 1 1/8" aluminium steerer tube and flat-mount brake mounts. The pedals are MARWI SP-700 with reflectors for added safety. The bottom bracket is a Feimin BB68 cartridge with a square taper, and the crankset is a Prowheel RLP-521 with 34/46T chainrings and a crank arm length of 140 mm. The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG400-9 with 9 speeds and a range of 11–34 teeth, whilst the drivetrain is powered by a KMC X9 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Syncros Youth Dropbars measuring 25.4 x 360 mm, and the stem is a LEADTEC LCS-7091 with a length of 50 mm and a clamp diameter of 25.4 mm. The headset is a Feimin FP-H807, semi-integrated with a diameter of 1 1/8". The rims are Alex Race 24 Disc, fitted with Kenda K1047 SmallBlock8 tyres in size 24x1.5" with 60 TPI.

The hubs are by Formula: the CL25-F QR model at the front and the CL2611-RQR model at the rear, both with quick-release skewers. The spokes are black, 15g in weight and made from UCP. The saddle is a Syncros Future Pro, mounted on an aluminium seatpost measuring 27.2x350mm.
