Scott Contessa Scale 940

The "Contessa Scale 940" model from Scott, released in 2021, is a high-quality mountain bike available at a price of 1,199 EUR. The bike’s frame is made from Scale Alloy 6061 custom butted tubing and, thanks to the Boost 12x148mm axles, the tapered head tube and the BB92 bottom bracket, provides a robust and stiff foundation. The frame also features internal cable routing and a replaceable derailleur hanger.

The bike’s total weight is 12 kg, making it a relatively lightweight model in its class. Braking performance is provided by Shimano MT201 disc brakes with a 180 mm front rotor and a 160 mm rear rotor. The drivetrain consists of a Shimano SLX RD-M7100 SGS with Shadow Plus technology and offers 12 gears, controlled via the Shimano Deore SL-M6100-R Rapidfire Plus shift levers.

The RockShox Judy Silver TK Solo Air fork, with 100 mm of travel, ensures good damping and control on uneven terrain. The rims are by Syncros and have 32 spoke holes. The tyres are Maxxis Rekon Race, 2.25" wide with a 60 TPI casing. The hubs are a Shimano HB-MT410-B CL at the front and a Shimano FH-MT410-B CL at the rear, both featuring the Boost standard for increased stability and stiffness. The spokes are made of black stainless steel with a thickness of 1.8 mm.

The saddle is a Syncros Savona 2.5 (V-Concept) Channel, mounted on a Syncros seatpost measuring 31.6 x 400 mm. Overall, the Scott Contessa Scale 940 offers a balanced combination of performance, comfort and durability, making it an excellent choice for ambitious mountain bikers.
