Scott Contessa Active 40

The "Contessa Active 40" model from Scott, released in 2022, is a versatile mountain bike characterised by its robust construction and well-thought-out features. The frame is part of the Contessa Active 700/900 series and is made from a special aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061 Custom Tubing). With a maximum load capacity of 128 kg and a kerb weight of 14 kg, the bike is suitable for a wide range of riders.

The frame’s geometry offers a good balance between comfort and performance. With a minimum rider height of 160 cm and a maximum of 170 cm, the bike is ideal for smaller riders. The frame features internal cable routing for the gears and a replaceable derailleur hanger.

The Contessa Active 40 is fitted with Tektro hydraulic disc brakes (HDM276), which feature 160 mm brake discs (6-bolt) at the front and rear for reliable braking performance. The derailleur is a Shimano Altus RD-M2000 with 18 speeds, operated via Shimano SL-M2010 shift levers with gear indicator. The front derailleur is a Shimano FD-M2020-TS with a diameter of 31.8 mm.

The Suntour XCT30-HLO fork offers 100 mm of travel and features a hydraulic lockout function, which provides additional control on rough terrain. The bottom bracket is a Shimano BB-MT500, Hollowtech II, which is combined with a Shimano FC-MT2102 crankset (36X22). The cassette is a Shimano CS-HG200-9 with an 11–36T range, and the chain is a KMC X9.

The Contessa Active 40’s handlebars are Syncros 3.0, with a width of 680 mm, a rise of 12 mm and a backsweep of 9 degrees. The grips are Syncros Women Pro Grips, which provide extra comfort. The stem is also a Syncros 3.0, with a length of 50 mm and an angle of 7 degrees.

The wheelsets consist of Syncros X-20 Disc rims with 32 spokes and Kenda Booster tyres (2.4" / 30TPI), mounted on Formula hubs (DC-19 FQR Disc at the front and DC-25 8s RQR Disc at the rear). The saddle is a Syncros Savona 2.5 V-Concept, fitted to a Syncros 3.0 seatpost with a diameter of 31.6 mm and a length of 350 mm.
