Scott Addict RC 40

The 2022 "Addict RC 40" model from Scott is a high-quality road bike characterised by a wide range of technical features and precision craftsmanship. Priced at 3,899 EUR, this bike offers excellent value for money for ambitious riders.

The Addict RC 40’s frame is made from Addict RC Disc HMX material and is designed with road race geometry. It features a replaceable derailleur hanger and internal cable routing, which improves both aerodynamics and ease of maintenance. The maximum rider weight is 120 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs just 8 kg, making it a lightweight yet robust companion.

The Shimano BR-R8070 hydraulic disc brakes, combined with the 160 mm Shimano SM-MT800 CL brake discs at the front and rear, ensure excellent braking performance and control in all conditions. Gear changes are handled by a Shimano Ultegra RD-R8000-SS 22-speed rear derailleur, controlled by Shimano Ultegra ST-R8020 Carbon Dual Control shift levers. The front derailleur is also a Shimano Ultegra FD-R8000, which guarantees precise and reliable shifting performance.

The bike is fitted with an Addict RC HMX Flatmount Disc fork featuring an eccentric carbon steerer tube. The bottom bracket is a Shimano SM-BB71-41B, and the crankset consists of a Shimano Ultegra FC-R8000 Hollowtech II with 52x36 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano CS-R7000 with an 11-30 tooth range, and power is transmitted via a Shimano CN-HG601-11 chain.

The handlebars are aluminium Syncros Creston 2.0 Compact, whilst the stem is a Syncros RR 1.5 with a length of 120 mm. The headset is an integrated Syncros Addict RC. The tyres are Schwalbe ONE Race-Guard Fold in size 700x28C, fitted to a Syncros RP2.0 Disc wheelset with 28 spokes at the front and rear respectively.

The saddle on the Addict RC 40 is a Syncros Belcarra Regular 2.0, and the seatpost is a Syncros Duncan 1.0 Aero. Other notable geometric specifications include a seat tube length of 610 mm, a top tube length of 600 mm, head tube and seat tube angles of 73 degrees each, a head tube length of 193 mm, a chainstay length of 410 mm and a bottom bracket drop of 70 mm. The fork offset is 45 mm, the standover height is 838 mm, the fork installation height is 379 mm and the wheelbase measures 1023 mm. The bottom bracket height is 275 mm.

The Addict RC 40 is suitable for riders between 195 cm and 205 cm tall and, thanks to its well-thought-out geometry and high-quality components, offers excellent riding dynamics and comfort over long distances.
