Kreidler Raise RT5S

The 2020 Kreidler Raise RT5S is a trekking bike featuring a 6061 aluminium alloy frame and designed for 28-inch wheels. Weighing 14 kilograms, it is one of the lighter models in its class. It is priced at 629 euros, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious cyclists.

The braking system consists of Shimano BR-MT200 disc brakes with a diameter of 160 mm, operated by Shimano Altus 3-finger brake levers. Gear changes are handled by a Shimano Acera system, combined with Shimano RS-310 trigger shifters and a Shimano FD-TY71 front derailleur. The crankset is a Shimano TY-301 with a length of 170 mm and chainrings with 48, 38 and 28 teeth. The cassette is a Shimano HG31 with a range of 11 to 32 teeth, and the chain is a KMC Z8.

The front light is a 70 LUX LED plastic lamp, whilst the rear light is an AXA Slim LED with a parking light function. The handlebars are 640 mm wide SONOS aluminium trekking handlebars, complemented by Herrmans DD37 grips with screw clamps. The stem is made of aluminium, is angle-adjustable and features a 4-position clamp.

Riding comfort is ensured by a Selle Royal Rio saddle, mounted on a Humpert Atar aluminium seatpost. The wheels consist of Schürmann YAK19 Disc aluminium hollow-section rims, fitted with Schwalbe Citizen tyres in size 37-622 with reflective strips. The hubs comprise a combination of a Shimano DH-3D37 hub dynamo and a Shimano TX505 hub.

Other features include plastic mudguards from SKS, an adjustable Hebie 0688 rear stand and plastic pedals for city and trekking use. The bottom bracket is a Thun Topaz with a square taper, and the headset is a semi-integrated FSA measuring 1 1/8”.
