Kreidler Raise RT5

The "Raise RT5" model from Kreidler, launched in 2020, is a well-designed trekking bike available at an attractive price of 629 EUR. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium and is designed for 28-inch wheels, which, combined with a total weight of 17 kg, offers a good balance between stability and lightness. Braking performance is provided by Shimano Altus BR-MT200 disc brakes with a 160 mm diameter, operated via Shimano Altus 3-finger brake levers. The gear system is fitted with a Shimano Acera system, which, in conjunction with the Shimano RS-310 shifters, enables precise control across 3x8 gears. The front derailleur is a Shimano TY71 (FD-TY71) model.

The Suntour NEX aluminium suspension fork ensures comfort on uneven terrain. The lighting system consists of a 70 LUX LED front light with a parking light, and an AXA Slim LED rear light, also with a parking light function, to ensure safety when cycling at night. The pedals are made of plastic and designed for city and trekking use. The bottom bracket is a Thun Topaz with a square taper, whilst the Shimano TY-301 crankset has a length of 170 mm and a chainring configuration of 48/38/28 teeth. The cassette consists of a Shimano HG31 with 11–32 teeth, and the drivetrain is powered by a KMC Z8 chain.

The handlebars are a SONOS aluminium trekking model, 640 mm wide, complemented by Herrmans DD37 grips with screw clamps. The stem is made of aluminium, is angle-adjustable and features a 4-way clamp with a diameter of 31.8 mm. The headset is a semi-integrated FSA model. The Schürmann YAK19 Disc aluminium hollow-wall rims are fitted with Schwalbe Citizen tyres in size 42-622, which feature reflective strips. The hubs are by Shimano: a DH-3D37 hub dynamo at the front and an FH-TX505-8 model at the rear. The wheelset is 28 inches in size.

Riding comfort is ensured by the Selle Royal Rio saddle, mounted on a Humpert Atar aluminium seatpost with a diameter of 27.2 mm and a length of 300 mm. The mudguards are made from SKS plastic and the Hebie 0688 rear stand is adjustable, allowing for flexible use of the bike. Overall, the Kreidler Raise RT5 offers a solid package for trekking enthusiasts who value reliability and functionality.
