KAYZA Hydric 4

The 2022 KAYZA Hydric 4 is a versatile e-bike that impresses with a balanced combination of performance and comfort. Priced at 2,749 EUR, it offers a solid range of features suitable for both everyday use and more demanding rides. At the heart of the Hydric 4 is the fourth-generation BOSCH ‘Performance CX’ mid-drive motor, which delivers powerful assistance with an output of 250 watts and a voltage of 36 volts. The accompanying BOSCH ‘Powerpack 500’ battery, with a capacity of 500 Wh, ensures a decent range, whilst the BOSCH ‘Purion’ display, featuring four assistance levels and a push-assist function, enables user-friendly control.

Braking performance is handled by Tektro HD-M 280 disc brakes, which are fitted with a 180 mm front rotor and provide reliable deceleration. Gear changes are handled by the SHIMANO “Altus RD-M 2000” rear derailleur in combination with the SHIMANO “Altus SL-M2010” shifter, enabling precise gear changes. The SHIMANO “HG-201-9” cassette offers a gear range of 11–36 teeth, which, in conjunction with the SHIMANO “CN-HG53” drivetrain, ensures efficient power transfer.

The RST Blaze ML-27.5" fork, with 120 mm of travel and Boost technology, ensures a comfortable ride on uneven terrain. The bike is fitted with KAYZA “X17” hollow-section rims, which, in combination with the SCHWALBE “Smart Sam” tyres in size 60-584, provide stability and grip. The hubs – comprising a SHIMANO “HB-MT400” QR at the front and a SHIMANO “FH-MT400” QR at the rear – together with the black Niro spokes, contribute to the robustness of the wheelset.

Other components, such as the VP “VPE-506” pedals, the Miranda crankset with a length of 172.5 mm, and the BOSCH bottom bracket, round off the Hydric 4’s mechanical specification. The HL “MTB-320” aluminium handlebars measure 720 mm and are paired with the HL “TDS-C507” stem, which is 90 mm long. Comfort is ensured by the HERRMANS “Grit” grips and the CROSS “MTB VL 1168” saddle, which is mounted on a PROMAX “SP-2016” seatpost with a diameter of 30.4 mm.

The package is rounded off by the Bosch 2 Ah charger, which efficiently recharges the battery. Overall, the KAYZA Hydric 4 offers a well-thought-out specification that is suitable for both beginners and experienced cyclists, providing a good balance between price and performance.
