Kalkhoff IMAGE HS

The "IMAGE HS" model from Kalkhoff, launched in 2023, offers a balanced combination of comfort and functionality at a price of 999 EUR. The bike’s aluminium frame is designed as a Trekking 0.5 V2, ensuring stability and durability. With a maximum load capacity of 130 kg, the bike is suitable for a wide range of uses, whether for daily commuting or longer trips.

The Magura HS11 hydraulic rim brakes ensure reliable braking power in a variety of conditions. The bike is fitted with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed gear system, which allows for easy and precise gear changes. The gear lever is also from Shimano Nexus, and together with the Prowheel crankset and the Shimano sprocket, the KMC Z1 EPT drivetrain – with its anti-rust coating – ensures long-lasting and low-maintenance use.

The SR Suntour NEX fork, with 63 mm of travel, is adjustable and helps to absorb road bumps, thereby enhancing riding comfort. Lighting is provided by the Herrmans MR GO LED front light (20 lux) and the AXA Blueline LED rear light with parking light function, which ensure safety when cycling in the dark.

Comfort is further enhanced by ergonomic components such as the aluminium Comfort Riser handlebars, the Herrmans Click grips and the Selle Royal Nuvola Unitec saddle with a patented suspension seatpost. The adjustable stem allows for individual adjustment of the riding position. The Schürmann ZXS rims with eyelets are robust, whilst the Schwalbe Delta Cruiser Plus tyres in size 47-622 provide good grip and puncture protection.

The bike features practical fittings such as plastic mudguards with edge protection, a comfortable aluminium luggage rack and pedals with anti-slip protection and reflectors. The front hub is fitted with a Shimano DH-C3000 hub dynamo, whilst the rear features a Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub. The spokes are made of stainless steel, which underlines their durability.

With a reach of 419 mm, a stack of 668 mm and other well-thought-out geometry specifications such as a head tube angle of 71 degrees and a seat tube angle of 73 degrees, the IMAGE HS offers balanced handling. The seat tube length is 550 mm, whilst the top tube measures 630 mm. The 1144 mm wheelbase ensures stability and a smooth ride. All in all, the Kalkhoff IMAGE HS is a reliable and comfortable bike suitable for a wide range of uses.
