Kalkhoff IMAGE 1.B ADVANCE

The "IMAGE 1.B ADVANCE" model from Kalkhoff, launched in 2023, is a versatile e-bike designed for comfortable city cycling and longer rides. Priced at 2,899 EUR, it offers a balanced combination of performance and functionality. The frame is made of aluminium and is designed as an E-Comfort frame, which allows for a comfortable riding position and supports a maximum load of 130 kg.

The bike is fitted with a Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brake system, featuring a 180 mm front and a 160 mm rear brake disc to ensure reliable braking performance. The drivetrain is an 8-speed Shimano Nexus system, controlled via Shimano Nexus shifters, which allows for easy and precise gear selection. The SR Suntour NVX30 fork, with 80 mm of travel, provides additional comfort on uneven terrain.

Lighting is provided by a Herrmans H-Black MR4 LED front light and a Herrmans H-Trace LED rear light, which ensure good visibility when cycling at night. The pedals are comfortable aluminium pedals, whilst the crankset is also made of aluminium. Power is transmitted via a KMC Z1 EPT chain with a rust-proof coating.

The handlebars are aluminium touring handlebars, fitted with Ergon GC10 grips for an ergonomic grip. The stem is made of aluminium and is adjustable by 90 mm to allow for individual adjustment of the riding position. The Schürmann CRAFT 21 rims are fitted with Schwalbe Energizer Plus Tour tyres in size 55-622, which ensure good road holding.

The front hub is a Shimano TX505 with a quick-release mechanism, whilst the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub. The Selle Royal Nuvola Unitec saddle, together with the suspension-equipped patented seatpost, offers additional comfort. Plastic mudguards with edge protection are fitted to guard against splash water, and the aluminium luggage rack with Snap-IT system offers practical transport options.

Power is provided by a Bosch Active Line Plus motor with an output of 36 V / 250 W and a torque of 50 Nm. The Li-ion battery has a capacity of 500 Wh and efficiently supplies the system with power. The Bosch Intuvia LCD display, which features a control panel and a push-assist function, offers a user-friendly interface for controlling the e-bike.

In terms of geometry, the IMAGE 1.B ADVANCE offers a balanced blend of stability and agility. The seat tube length is 400 mm, the top tube length is 615 mm, and the head tube angle is 68 degrees. The seat tube angle is 80 degrees, whilst the chainstay length measures 527 mm. With a wheelbase of 1243 mm and a standover height of 430 mm, the bike offers a safe ride at various speeds and in different conditions.
