Kalkhoff ENDEAVOUR 24

The "ENDEAVOUR 24" model from Kalkhoff, launched in 2023, is a versatile trekking bike that impresses with its solid spec and an attractive price of 999 EUR. The frame is made of robust aluminium and is designed to support a maximum load of 130 kg, making the bike a reliable companion for a wide range of uses.

The Alhonga HT474 CL hydraulic disc brakes, with 180 mm front and 160 mm rear rotors, ensure safe deceleration in a wide range of conditions. The 24-speed Shimano Acera groupset, controlled via Shimano Altus shifters, enables precise gear selection and adapts flexibly to different riding requirements. For added comfort, the bike is fitted with an SR Suntour NEX fork, which offers 63 mm of travel and is individually adjustable.

The lighting system, comprising the Herrmans MR GO front light and the Herrmans H-Trace rear light – both featuring LED technology – is state-of-the-art and ensures sufficient visibility in road traffic. The Urban Light pedals feature an anti-slip coating and reflectors to further enhance safety.

The drivetrain comprises a Shimano Tourney crankset and a KMC X8 chain, whilst the cassettes are also from Shimano Acera. The aluminium comfort riser handlebars and Ergon GC10 grips offer an ergonomic riding position, supported by an adjustable stem.

The aluminium rims with eyelets and Schwalbe Marathon tyres (47-622) ensure stability and puncture resistance. The front hub is fitted with a Shimano DH-3D37 hub dynamo, whilst the rear features a Shimano TX505 hub; both are fitted with quick-release skewers. The stainless steel spokes contribute to the durability of the wheels.

The Selle Royal Nuvola Unitec saddle, mounted on a rigid aluminium seatpost, ensures a comfortable ride. Additional features such as plastic mudguards with edge protection and an aluminium luggage rack with the Snap-IT system round off the package.

The bike’s geometry includes measurements such as a seat tube length of 500 mm, a top tube length of 597 mm, a head tube angle of 70 degrees and a seat tube angle of 73 degrees. Further specifications include a chainstay length of 455 mm, a standover height of 837 mm and a wheelbase of 1110 mm, giving the bike a good balance between stability and manoeuvrability. All in all, the Kalkhoff ENDEAVOUR 24 offers excellent value for money for trekking enthusiasts.
