i:SY S8 F

The "S8 F" model from the i:SY brand, launched in 2022, is a compact e-bike that impresses with its well-thought-out features and robust technology. The frame is designed as the original i:SY Compact 47 cm unisex model and has a maximum load capacity of up to 140 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 23 kg. Priced at 3,449 EUR, the bike offers a wide range of high-quality components that ensure both safety and comfort.

The braking system consists of SHIMANO BR-MT 200 hydraulic disc brakes, which reliably deliver powerful braking performance at both the front and rear. The front brake discs measure 180 mm and the rear 160 mm. The bike is fitted with a SHIMANO Nexus 8-speed gear system with a freewheel, controlled via a SHIMANO Nexus Revo shifter. The rigid fork from i:SY emphasises the bike’s compact design.

Lighting is provided at the front by a FUXON FF-100HB LED light with a luminous intensity of 100 lux and a high-beam function, whilst at the rear a COMUS COB-LED rear light is integrated into the luggage rack. The spec is rounded off by VP Components clipless pedals and a STRONGLIGHT Magan e-bike crankset. Power is transmitted via a KMC e8 Sport EPT chain.

The handlebars are 660 mm wide and feature ergonomic ERGON GP10 grips as well as an i:SY stem with a 170 mm SPEEDLIFTER Twist T22. The semi-integrated A-Head headset is tapered from 1 1/8” to 1 1/2”. The RYDE Andra 40 Disc rims, combined with SCHWALBE Pick Up tyres, ensure stability and puncture resistance.

The VELO Zecure saddle with Hydro Foam offers comfort on longer rides, whilst the i:SY seatpost, with a diameter of 34.9 mm and a length of 415 mm, ensures an optimal riding position. The SKS Bluemels mudguards, 65 mm wide, offer protection against splashing water. A Horn Catena chain guard, a PLETSCHER Kickstand Comp 40 Flex and an Abus ISY lock set round off the equipment.

The luggage rack is fitted with a Monkey Load adapter and offers versatile transport options. Power is provided by a BOSCH Active Line Plus motor with an output of 250 W. The accompanying BOSCH PowerPack 500 battery, with a capacity of 500 Wh, ensures a sufficient range. The BOSCH Purion display offers simple operation and an overview of the most important ride data. The battery is charged using a BOSCH Compact Charger with a capacity of 2 Ah. The crank length is 170 mm, which contributes to the bike’s ergonomics. Overall, the i:SY S8 F is a well-designed and reliable e-bike that is suitable for both urban and rural use.
