Husqvarna E-Bicycles Light Cross JR 27.5

The "Light Cross JR 27.5" model from Husqvarna E-Bicycles, launched in 2020, is a versatile e-bike designed specifically for young riders. Priced at 2499 EUR, it offers an attractive combination of performance and features. The frame is made from a lightweight and robust 27.5" 6061 alloy construction, designed as a kids’ hardtail with a compact interface and a semi-integrated battery. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 21 kg.

Reliable braking performance is provided by TEKTRO HD-M275 hydraulic disc brakes, fitted with 180 mm stainless steel brake discs at both the front and rear. Gear shifting is provided by the SHIMANO ALTUS RD-M2000 9-speed system, complemented by the SHIMANO ALTUS SL-M2000 Rapidfire Plus shift lever. The SR SUNTOUR XCM fork, with 120 mm of travel, offers comfortable suspension on uneven terrain.

The drive is assisted by the SHIMANO STePS DU-E5000 motor with a torque of 40 Nm, which, in combination with the SHIMANO BT-E8014 semi-internal battery with a capacity of 418 Wh, ensures efficient and powerful assistance. Control is via the SHIMANO SC-E7000 LED display, which offers both ANT+ and Bluetooth functionality.

The bike is fitted with high-quality components, including a HUSQVARNA crankset made from forged aluminium and a SHIMANO CS-HG200 cassette with an 11–36T range. The KMC X9 chain ensures a reliable drivetrain. The handlebars, stem and seatpost are also from HUSQVARNA, with the handlebars measuring 710 mm in width and the stem 60 mm in length. The tyres are SCHWALBE SMART SAM Performance models in size 27.5x2.25, fitted to ALEX RIMS MD 19 rims.

The saddle is a HUSQVARNA JR Ergo model, which offers comfort for longer rides. The saddle is secured using a quick-release clamp with a diameter of 34.9 mm. Overall, the Light Cross JR 27.5 offers a good balance between performance and comfort, making it ideal for young riders looking for a reliable and well-equipped e-bike.
