Husqvarna E-Bicycles Hard Cross HC3 2022

The “Hard Cross HC3 2022” model from Husqvarna E-Bicycles, which will be available in 2023 for EUR 6,799, is a high-performance e-mountain bike characterised by its robust construction and high-quality components. The frame is made from an aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and, with 180 mm of suspension travel and an integrated battery, offers the necessary stability and range for challenging trails. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, which is indicative of its solid construction.

The braking system is fitted with Shimano BR-M8120 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes, which, with 203 mm brake discs at both the front (Shimano RT-EM810 at the front, RT-MT800 at the rear) to ensure excellent braking performance. The Shimano BL-M8100 brake levers are adjustable and optimised for two-finger operation, enabling precise control.

Power is provided by the Shimano EP8 motor with an output of 250 W and a torque of 85 Nm, supported by a Core S1 battery with a capacity of 630 Wh. Gear changes are handled by the Shimano Deore XT system with Shadow Plus technology and 12 speeds, whilst the shifter is the Shimano Deore SL-M6100 Rapidfire Plus. The crankset is made from forged aluminium and features a Narrow Wide chain guide.

Suspension is provided by the RockShox ZEB Select fork with DebonAir air suspension and a RockShox Deluxe Select+ shock, both of which ensure optimum damping and control. The wheels are fitted with DT Swiss H 1900 SPLINE hubs and are tubeless-ready, which, together with the Schwalbe Magic Mary and Hans Dampf tyres, ensures excellent traction.

The handlebars are a Husqvarna Riser model with a width of 780 mm and a 9-degree sweep, whilst the stem has a length of 50 mm. The seatpost is a Husqvarna Pro Dropper Post, which, combined with the Husqvarna MTB saddle, ensures comfort. Other features include the Shimano SC-EM800 LCD display with ANT and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a 4 A Charger S charger.

With a reach of 480 mm, a stack of 674 mm and a wheelbase of 1277 mm, the Hard Cross HC3 offers a geometry that ensures both stability and agility. The head tube angle is 65 degrees, whilst the seat tube angle is 77 degrees, enabling an aggressive riding position. Overall, the Hard Cross HC3 is a well-designed e-bike, conceived for discerning mountain bike enthusiasts.
