Husqvarna E-Bicycles Gran Urban 5

The 2021 “Gran Urban 5” from Husqvarna E-Bicycles is a versatile e-bike designed for urban use. Priced at 4099 EUR, this model offers high-quality features and modern technology. The frame is made from a robust 6061 aluminium alloy, which has been specially developed for urban use with a Skeleton Interface and an integrated battery. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 25 kg.

Reliable braking performance is provided by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT200) with a 180mm front brake disc. The drivetrain is fitted with a Shimano SLX, RD-M7100, Shadow Plus 12-speed system, which enables precise and rapid gear changes. The shift levers are the Shimano SLX, SL-M7100 Rapidfire Plus, also in a 12-speed configuration.

The SR Suntour Mobie25 LOR air suspension fork, with 75 mm of travel, ensures comfort and control on uneven roads. For lighting, the bike is fitted with a Trelock Veo 50 front light (50 lux) and a Trelock LS621 rear light. The pedals and crankset are made from a lightweight alloy by Husqvarna.

The drive system is powered by a Shimano STePS DU-E6100 motor with an output of 250W and a torque of 60Nm, although 50Nm is achieved when using 8-speed hub gears. The battery has a capacity of 504 Wh and is a Shimano BT-E8035 model with 36V and 14Ah. All key information is displayed on the Shimano SC-E6010 LCD display.

The handlebars are a Husqvarna model with a width of 700 mm and a 6° sweep, whilst the stem is adjustable. The tyres are Schwalbe Super MOTO-X with Green Guard technology, size 27.5x2.40, fitted to Ryde Rival30 rims. The hubs are also from Husqvarna: DC-71 at the front and DC-1248 at the rear.

Other useful features include the Husqvarna Ergo saddle, a dropper seatpost, aluminium mudguards, an adjustable kickstand and a luggage rack featuring Husqvarna’s CarryMore system. This specification makes the Gran Urban 5 a reliable companion for everyday city cycling and longer rides.
