Husqvarna E-Bicycles Gran City 5

The "Gran City 5" model from Husqvarna E-Bicycles, launched in 2020, is a versatile e-bike designed specifically for urban use. Priced at 3299 EUR, it offers a combination of functionality and modern technology. The bike’s frame is made from a robust 6061 alloy construction and is available in 26" and 28" sizes. The City-Wave frame, featuring a Compact Interface and seat tube battery mount, ensures a stable and comfortable ride. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 24 kg.

The Gran City 5 is fitted with SHIMANO BR-MT201 hydraulic disc brakes, which provide reliable braking power with 160 mm brake discs at the front and rear. Gear changes are controlled via the SHIMANO DEORE XT Di2 system with 11 speeds, complemented by the SHIMANO Di2 shifter, SW-E7000. The SR SUNTOUR NEX E25 fork offers 50 mm of travel, providing additional comfort on uneven roads.

Lighting is provided by the TRELOCK Veo 50 front light with Double Lens Technology and 50 lux, whilst the HERRMANS H-Cargo E-Bike rear light, featuring four LEDs, is integrated. Both lights are designed for use on e-bikes and comply with the StVZO. The pedals are from VP COMPONENTS, model VP-E506, and the HUSQVARNA crankset is made of forged aluminium.

The drive system is powered by the SHIMANO STePS DU-E6100 motor with a torque of 60 Nm, whilst power is supplied by a semi-internal SHIMANO BT-E8010 battery with a capacity of 504 Wh. The central SHIMANO SC-E6100 LCD display offers ANT+ and Bluetooth functionality for easy control and monitoring of the system.

The handlebars are 680 mm wide and feature a 30° back sweep, whilst the adjustable aluminium stem allows for an angle of -10° to +60°. The HUSQVARNA GC-Ergo saddle, together with the KINDSHOCK 860i dropper post, ensures comfort. Mudguards and an integrated luggage rack with a load capacity of up to 25 kg complete the specification.

The wheels feature HQV Edition RYDE TL-21 rims, combined with SCHWALBE DELTA CRUISER K-Guard tyres for the 26" version and SCHWALBE Energizer Plus-Guard tyres for the 28" version. The hubs are by SHIMANO and offer reliable performance. Overall, the Gran City 5 is a well-designed e-bike that performs impressively both in the city and on longer rides.
