Husqvarna E-Bicycles Gran City 1

The 2020 “Gran City 1” model from Husqvarna E-Bicycles offers a combination of technical sophistication and practical features for urban use. The price of 2,599 EUR reflects the high-quality specifications and well-thought-out design. The e-bike’s frame is made from a robust aluminium alloy (Alloy 6061) and features a City Wave design that is compatible with both 26-inch and 28-inch wheels. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 24 kg.

Safety whilst riding is ensured by SHIMANO hydraulic disc brakes (BR-MT200) featuring 2-piston technology. The front brake disc has a diameter of 160 mm and the rear one 180 mm, both in a CentreLock design. The drivetrain consists of a 9-speed SHIMANO ALIVIO groupset with a SHIMANO ALTUS Rapidfire Plus shifter, enabling precise and reliable gear changes.

The suspension is complemented by an SR SUNTOUR NEX E25 fork with 50 mm of travel, which ensures comfort on uneven roads. The lighting comprises an AXA Compact Line 35 LED front light and a TRELOCK LS621 Flat LED rear light, both compliant with the StVZO standard and designed for use on e-bikes.

Key features of the bike include the HUSQVARNA crankset made from forged aluminium, a SHIMANO sprocket with a gear ratio of 11-36T, and the KMC X9e drive system. The handlebars are ergonomically designed, with a width of 680 mm and a 30° backward sweep, whilst the stem is adjustable at an angle of -10° to +60°.

The wheels feature HQV Edition RYDE TL-21 rims, combined with SHIMANO hubs for a reliable and stable ride. Depending on the wheel size, the tyres are either SCHWALBE DELTA CRUISER K-Guard or SCHWALBE Energizer Plus-Guard, both of which are renowned for their durability and grip.

The saddle is the HUSQVARNA GC-Ergo model, mounted on a suspension seatpost for added comfort. Mudguards, a height-adjustable kickstand and a luggage rack with a load capacity of up to 25 kg round off the features.

The Gran City 1 is powered by the SHIMANO STePS DU-E5000 motor with a torque of 40 Nm, whilst the SHIMANO BT-E8010 battery, with a capacity of 504 Wh, provides sufficient power for longer rides. The central SHIMANO SC-E6100 LCD display, featuring ANT+ and Bluetooth functionality, allows for easy monitoring and control of the e-bike. Overall, the Gran City 1 offers a well-balanced package for comfortable and efficient city travel.
