Husqvarna E-Bicycles Cross Tourer 5

The 2021 "Cross Tourer 5" model from Husqvarna E-Bicycles is a versatile e-bike designed for trekking tours. Priced at 4099 EUR, it offers a combination of robust construction and modern technology. The frame is made from 6061 aluminium alloy and features the Skeleton Interface for an integrated battery that is seamlessly embedded into the bike’s design. The maximum permissible weight is 130 kg, whilst the e-bike itself weighs 26 kg.

The braking system comprises Shimano BR-MT410 hydraulic disc brakes with 203 mm brake discs at the front and rear, mounted via the Centre Lock system. Precise gear changes are ensured by the Shimano Deore XT RD-M8100 with Shadow Plus technology and 12 speeds. The SR Suntour Mobie A32 NLO fork, with 75 mm of travel and a tapered design, enhances riding comfort on uneven terrain.

For road safety, the Cross Tourer 5 is fitted with a Litemove HKSE-70 front light, which provides 70 lux, and a Spanninga Commute Glow E rear light. The pedals are made from a robust alloy and are supplied by Husqvarna. The crankset is also made from forged aluminium and has a length of 170 mm. The cassette is a Shimano CS-M6100 with a range of 10–51T.

The handlebars are 700 mm wide and have a 9° sweep and a 15 mm rise, which allows for a comfortable grip position. The ergonomic grips are fitted with a lock-on function. The stem is adjustable and measures 90 mm in length. The headset is available in sizes ZS44/28.8 and ZS56/39.8.

The Ryde Disc30 rims are tubeless-compatible and fitted with Schwalbe Johnny Watts tyres in size 27.5x2.35, which are renowned for their performance and responsiveness. The hubs are by Husqvarna, with Centre Lock mounting and different axle widths at the front (15x100mm) and rear (12x142mm).

The saddle is a Husqvarna Vivo Moderate, developed in collaboration with Selle Royal, and sits on a 350 mm long aluminium seatpost. Eurofender Tempo 65 mudguards provide protection against splash water, whilst the Ursus MOOI KSA40 kickstand is adjustable. The luggage rack, also from Husqvarna, is compatible with the MIK system.

The e-bike is powered by a Shimano EP8 motor with an output of 250W and a torque of 85Nm. Power is supplied by a Simplo TPS battery with a capacity of 630Wh. The Shimano SC-E6100 LCD display offers ANT & BT-LE connectivity and allows for easy operation of the electronic components.
