Hercules Versa R7 Belt

The "Versa R7 Belt" model from Hercules, launched in 2021, is a versatile folding bike that stands out for its robust construction and well-thought-out features. Priced at 1,099 euros, it offers excellent value for money for anyone who values reliability and comfort. The frame is made from an aluminium folding frame (AL 6061 PG), which not only gives the bike stability but also a relatively low weight of 15 kg. The maximum load capacity is 135 kg, providing ample load-bearing capacity for both rider and luggage.

The braking system consists of Tektro 855AL-EN V-brakes, which, in combination with the Tektro 374AP brake levers, ensure reliable braking performance. A Shimano Revoshifter is used for gear changes, offering seven gears and thus providing sufficient range for a variety of riding conditions. The rigid steel fork with 63 mm of travel contributes to the bike’s stability and control.

Lighting is provided by a battery-powered front light from Busch & Müller, the Ixon Pure B model, and a rear light from the same manufacturer, the Toplight Flat Permanent, which is also battery-powered. These ensure adequate visibility and safety on the road.

The bike is fitted with a Gates CDN drivetrain, including a Gates FC-S150 CDN aluminium crankset and a Gates CDN 24T sprocket. These components contribute to the drivetrain’s durability and low-maintenance nature. The handlebars are Kalloy HB-RB11 with a diameter of 25.4 mm, a 6° backsweep and a 30 mm rise, ensuring a comfortable and ergonomic riding position. The grips are ergonomically designed and feature an integrated clamping mechanism.

Further features include a Kalloy seatpost, 550 mm long and with a diameter of Ø29.4 mm, as well as a Selle Royal LookIn Relaxed saddle, which offers additional comfort. The rims are Airline-1 models, combined with Impac Big Pack tyres (50-406, TwinSkin), which ensure good road holding. The hubs are from Shimano; the front wheel is fitted with a quick-release mechanism, whilst the rear wheel features a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub with a coaster brake.

The bike features SKS B55 plastic mudguards, a Gates chain guard and a Standwell double-leg kickstand for added stability when parked. The i-Rack aluminium luggage rack offers practical transport options. With a reach of 421 mm and a stack of 352 mm, the Versa R7 Belt offers a balanced combination of a sporty and an upright riding position.
