Hercules Versa R3

The 2023 Hercules Versa R3 is a versatile bike model that stands out for its well-thought-out features and high-quality build. Priced at 849 EUR, it offers excellent value for money. The frame is made from Fold Series aluminium (AL 6061), which gives the bike a lightweight construction with a total weight of just 15 kg, whilst still offering high load-bearing capacity with a maximum load of 135 kg.

The Versa R3’s braking system is fitted with Tektro V-brakes, supplemented by a coaster brake for added safety. The Tektro brake levers (HD-276) and the 180 mm front brake disc provide reliable braking performance. The gear system consists of a Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub gear with a Shimano Revoshifter lever, enabling simple and effective gear selection.

The rigid steel fork with 63 mm of travel offers stability and control, whilst lighting is provided by battery-powered front and rear lights from Busch & Müller. The Prowheel crankset and the Shimano 19T sprocket, together with the KMC Z1 chain, form the bike’s drivetrain.

The handlebars are Kalloy HB-RB11 with a slight backsweep and rise, ensuring a comfortable riding position. The grips are ergonomically designed and feature an integrated clamping mechanism. The adjustable A-Head stem and semi-integrated headset offer additional adjustment options.

The bike is fitted with DDM-1 rims and Impac Big Pack tyres, which ensure good road holding. The front hub is a Formula OV-31, whilst the rear features a Shimano Nexus 3-speed hub with a coaster brake. The Selle Royal Ariel unisex saddle, together with the long Kalloy seatpost, ensures comfort even on longer rides.

Other practical features include the plastic mudguards and chain guard, which keep the bike clean, as well as a Standwell double-leg kickstand for easy parking. The i-Rack system carrier with spring-loaded flap offers additional transport options. With a reach of 421 mm, a stack of 352 mm and a wheelbase of 980 mm, the bike’s geometric dimensions are well balanced to ensure stable handling. The head tube angle is 72 degrees and the seat tube angle 73 degrees, which promotes a comfortable riding position. The Hercules Versa R3 is therefore a reliable and functional bike for everyday use.
