Hercules Robert/a R7 Active Plus

The "Robert/a R7 Active Plus" model from Hercules, launched in 2023, is a versatile e-city bike that stands out for its robust construction and comprehensive range of features. The frame is made from AL 6061 series aluminium, giving the bike a total weight of 27 kg and allowing for a maximum load capacity of up to 135 kg. The braking system comprises Magura hydraulic rim brakes, fitted with the HS11 model at both the front and rear, supplemented by a coaster brake for added safety.

The gear system is based on a Shimano Nexus 7-speed system, which also incorporates a coaster brake. The gear lever is a Shimano Revoshifter, which ensures simple and reliable operation. The SR Suntour CR85-E25 P fork offers an adjustable travel of 63 mm, ensuring comfort on uneven roads.

In terms of lighting, the bike is fitted with a Comus F16 LED front light, which provides up to 20 lux, and a Comus R-232EB LED rear light. Power is provided by a third-generation Bosch Active Plus motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 50 Nm, powered by a Bosch PowerPack battery with a capacity of 500 Wh. The Bosch Intuvia display offers a user-friendly interface for controlling the electronic components.

The crankset is an FSA CK-220 with a length of 170 mm, and power is transmitted via a KMC Z1EHX chain. The handlebars are a Kalloy Tour model, 660 mm wide with a 37° backsweep, whilst the adjustable stem and semi-integrated headset ensure an ergonomic riding position.

The Supero tyres, measuring 50-622, offer puncture protection and are fitted to DBM-2 rims, supported by reinforced black steel spokes. The hubs comprise a Formula OV-31 at the front and a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub at the rear. The DDK City saddle is mounted on a Kalloy SP-F102 seatpost, which is 350 mm long and has a diameter of 34.9 mm.

Other features include plastic mudguards, a Horn Catena 18 chain guard, a Standwell rear stand and an AXA battery lock for security. The Monkey Load luggage rack with system carrier and spring-loaded flap completes the package. The Robert/a R7 Active Plus is priced at 2899 EUR and offers a good balance between performance, comfort and functionality for urban use.
