Hercules Robert/a R7 Active Plus 400

The "Robert/a R7 Active Plus 400" model from Hercules, released in 2022, is a versatile trekking and city bike designed for urban use and leisurely rides. Priced at 2599 EUR, this e-bike offers a balanced blend of performance and comfort. The frame is made from lightweight aluminium (AL 6061), which contributes to the bike’s robustness and durability. The maximum load capacity is 135 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 27 kg.

The braking system consists of Magura HS-11 hydraulic rim brakes, which ensure reliable braking performance. The brake levers are also by Magura and offer good control. The gear system is operated by the Shimano Revoshifter, whilst the SR Suntour fork features 63 mm of travel and can be adjusted to suit different road conditions.

To ensure visibility on the road, a Comus F16 LED front light with up to 20 lux and a Comus R-232EB rear light for the luggage rack are fitted. The Wellgo pedals are non-slip and provide a secure grip. The drivetrain consists of a KMC Z1EHX chain, combined with an FSA CK-220 crankset. The Kalloy handlebars are ergonomically shaped and adjustable, allowing for personalised customisation.

The DBM-2 rims are fitted with Supero 50-622 tyres, which feature puncture protection. The front hub is a Formula OV-31 with quick-release, whilst the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 7-speed hub with a coaster brake. The DDK City DDK-225A2 saddle and the rigid seatpost from Kalloy ensure comfort on longer rides.

Other features include plastic mudguards with V-struts, a Catena 18 chain guard and a Standwell kickstand for secure parking. The bike is also fitted with an AXA battery lock and an i-Rack system luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap.

Power is provided by a Bosch Active Plus GEN3 motor with 250 watts and 50 Nm of torque. The battery is a Bosch Carrier-type unit with a capacity of 400 Wh, which enables a good range. The Bosch Intuvia display offers simple operation and a clear overview of ride data. A Bosch charger with a 2A charging current ensures the battery is fully charged. With a reach of 406 mm and a stack of 683 mm, the bike offers comfortable geometry for the rider.
