Hercules Robert/a Pro I-R5

The "Robert/a Pro I-R5" model from Hercules, launched in 2022, is a high-quality trekking city bike which, at a price of 4,299 euros, is positioned in the upper mid-range. The frame is made of aluminium (AL 6061) and is designed to accommodate the Bosch Powertube battery. With a maximum load capacity of 150 kg and a kerb weight of 28 kg, it offers a robust build that is also suitable for more demanding rides.

The spec includes Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (MT200) with BL-MT201 brake levers and a front brake disc with a diameter of 180 mm. Gear changes are handled by a Shimano Revoshifter, whilst the SR Suntour (NCX-D) fork features 63 mm of travel and an air-sprung lockout function. The HERCULES front light provides excellent illumination of up to 100 lux, complemented by a Comus rear light integrated into the frame.

Power is transmitted via a Gates CDX belt, supported by a Samox EC38 crankset and a Gates CDX 28T sprocket. The hubs are by Shimano, with the front hub fitted with a thru-axle and Centerlock, whilst the rear hub features a 5-speed internal gear hub with a coaster brake.

Comfort and ergonomics are ensured by the Zecure AL handlebars with a 35° backsweep and Ergon GC-1 grips. The stem is adjustable, whilst the seatpost is a suspension-equipped dropper post with 80 mm of travel. The Selle Bassano Suprema City saddle rounds off the comfortable riding experience.

Other features include Schwalbe Marathon E-Plus tyres with SmartGuard technology, Curana Apollo aluminium mudguards, an i-Rack luggage rack system with a spring-loaded flap and an integrated ABUS Pro Shield lock. The motor is a Bosch Performance Cruise GEN3 with 250 watts and a torque of 65 Nm, whilst the Bosch Intuvia display ensures intuitive control. The battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is charged using a Bosch 2A charger. As a result, the Robert/a Pro I-R5 offers an impressive combination of performance, comfort and functionality for both urban and rural use.
