Hercules Rob Fold R8

The "Rob Fold R8" from Hercules, launched in 2022, is a versatile and practical e-bike that is ideal for urban use. It is fitted with an AL 6061 aluminium Fold Urban frame, which offers both stability and lightness. With a total weight of 22 kg and a maximum load capacity of 135 kg, this model is robust enough to meet a variety of demands in everyday use. The price of the “Rob Fold R8” is 2999 EUR.

The bike features Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, which, in combination with the Shimano BL-MT201 brake levers, ensure reliable braking performance. The front brake disc has a diameter of 180 mm and is also from Shimano (SM-RT10). The drivetrain is operated via a Shimano Revoshifter gear lever, whilst the crankset is from FSA (CK-220) and the 18-tooth sprocket is from Shimano. The drivetrain is complemented by a KMC Z1EHX chain.

The bike features a rigid aluminium fork with a diameter of 1.5", which ensures direct handling. Lighting is provided by a HERCULES FH 40 LED front light with a luminous intensity of up to 40 lux and a Busch & Müller 2C LED rear light mounted on the luggage rack, ensuring good visibility in road traffic.

The handlebars are a Trekking AL model with a 31.8 mm diameter, a 37° backsweep and a 28 mm rise, complemented by ergonomic grips with integrated clamps. The adjustable stem with ‘All Up’ height adjustment allows for individual customisation of the riding position. The rims are DDM-1 and the tyres are Schwalbe Big Apple, which are renowned for comfort and puncture protection.

The bike is fitted with Shimano hubs: at the front with a quick-release and Centerlock (RM35), and at the rear with a Shimano Nexus 8-speed hub including a coaster brake. The spokes are made from black stainless steel.

The saddle is a Selle Royal LookIn Relaxed model, mounted on a Kalloy SP-DC1 aluminium seat post. The mudguards are made of plastic (SKS B60) to protect against splashes, whilst the Herrmans Slyde chain guard provides additional protection. A Massload CL-KA47 two-legged kickstand provides stability when parking the bike.

An ABUS battery lock with a Plus cylinder ensures security, whilst the i-Rack system carrier with a spring-loaded flap expands transport options. The motor is an Active Plus GEN3 model with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 50 Nm, powered by a Bosch Standard battery with a capacity of 400 Wh. The Bosch Intuvia display offers a user-friendly interface, whilst the Bosch 2A charger ensures efficient charging.
