Hercules Intero I-R5

The 2022 Hercules Intero I-R5 is a versatile trekking and city bike that stands out for its robust construction and extensive range of features. The frame is made of aluminium (AL6061) and features an intube design, which creates a clean, uncluttered look whilst also improving stability. With a maximum load capacity of 135 kg and a kerb weight of 26 kg, the bike provides a solid foundation for everyday use as well as longer rides.

The Shimano hydraulic disc brakes (MT200), together with the Shimano BL-MT201 brake levers and the 180 mm Centre Lock front brake disc, ensure reliable braking performance in a variety of weather conditions. The SR Suntour NEX fork, with an adjustable travel of 63 mm, contributes to a comfortable ride by effectively absorbing bumps on the road.

For lighting, the bike is fitted with a HERCULES FH 40 LED front light, which provides up to 40 lux, and a Busch & Müller 2C LED rear rack light, which ensures visibility in traffic. Gear changes are operated via a Shimano Revoshifter, whilst the drivetrain is supported by a KMC Z610 chain. The Intero I-R5 features an ergonomic Ergo City AL handlebar with a width of 640 mm and a 15° backsweep, complemented by Herrmans Clik grips with integrated clamping for added comfort. The adjustable A-head stem and semi-integrated headset offer flexibility when adapting to different riding styles.

The wheels are fitted with Rodi Viper rims and Schwalbe Energizer Active Plus tyres, which ensure durability and puncture resistance thanks to GreenGuard technology. The front hub features a Shimano TX505 quick-release mechanism, whilst the rear hub is a Shimano Nexus 5-speed hub including a coaster brake.

The Selle Bassano Volare Icon XL saddle, mounted on a Kalloy SP-383 seatpost with 45 mm of travel, provides additional comfort. SKS mudguards, a Horn Catena 18 chain guard and a Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand round off the specification and ensure the bike is suitable for everyday use.

The bike’s drivetrain is powered by a GX Force Pro FIT motor with a torque of 75 Nm, which, together with a FIT TP Intube battery with a capacity of 630 Wh, provides powerful assistance. The Fit Compact 2" centre display with remote controller allows for easy control and monitoring of the system.
