Hercules Futura Sport I-8

The "Futura Sport I-8" model from Hercules, released in 2023, is a versatile e-trekking bike priced at 3,499 EUR. The frame is made from AL 6061 aluminium from the eTrekking Series and offers a sturdy construction with a maximum load capacity of 135 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 26 kg. The braking system consists of Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, with 180 mm front and 160 mm rear rotors, ensuring reliable braking performance. The drivetrain is fitted with a Shimano Alivio RD-M3020 8-speed rear derailleur, operated via Shimano Acera SL-M315 shift levers.

The SR Suntour NEX-E25 fork offers an adjustable travel of 63 mm, providing additional comfort on uneven terrain. The lighting comprises a Hercules FS-50 LED front light with up to 50 lux and a Comus RZ-100EB LED rear light, ensuring safety when cycling at night. The bike is fitted with Wellgo pedals and an FSA CK-220 crankset. The Shimano CS-HG41-8 cassette offers a gear ratio of 11-34T, whilst power is transmitted via a KMC X8 chain.

The handlebars are a Trekking AL model with a 31.8 mm diameter and a 15° backsweep, complemented by ergonomic grips with integrated clamps. The adjustable A-Head stem and the integrated tapered headset contribute to the bike’s adaptability. The tyres are SUPERO Optima Safe in size 50-622, fitted to DDM-2 rims with black steel spokes.

The saddle is a Trekking Sport model with memory foam, mounted on a Kalloy SP-383 seatpost with 45 mm of travel. The bike is fitted with SKS plastic mudguards, a Horn Catena 17 chain guard and a Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand. An ABUS IT3 battery lock with an XPlus cylinder provides additional security. The luggage rack is a Monkey Load system rack with a spring-loaded flap.

The Futura Sport I-8 is powered by a third-generation Performance Cruise Smart System motor, which delivers 250 watts of power and 75 Nm of torque. The Bosch PowerTube battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is charged using a Bosch 2 A charger. The Bosch Intuvia 100 display provides all the necessary information whilst riding. The bike’s geometry comprises a reach of 442 mm, a stack of 637 mm, a seat tube length of 450 mm, and head tube and seat tube angles of 68 and 74 degrees respectively. The wheelbase is 1207 mm, which contributes to a stable and comfortable ride.
