Hercules Futura HD I-12

The "Futura HD I-12" model from Hercules, released in 2022, is a high-quality e-bike which, at a price of 4399 EUR, is positioned in the upper mid-range. The frame is made from aluminium from the Trekking Sport Series and is designed to accommodate a Powertube battery. It offers high stability and a maximum load capacity of up to 170 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 27 kg.

Braking performance is provided by Shimano hydraulic disc brakes – specifically the MT420 model – with BL-MT402 brake levers. The front brake disc has a diameter of 180 mm (Shimano SM-RT30), ensuring efficient deceleration. The derailleur is a Shimano Deore RD-M6100, which, together with the SL-M6100 shifter, enables precise gear changes.

The SR Suntour MOBIE E-25 fork, with 63 mm of travel, offers comfort and stability in a variety of riding conditions. The lighting system comprises a HERCULES FH 100 LED front light, which reaches up to 100 lux, and a Busch & Müller 2C LED rear light, ensuring good visibility.

Further features include Marwi SP828 aluminium pedals, an FSA CK-320 crankset and a Shimano Deore CS-M6100 cassette (10-51T). Power is transmitted via a KMC X12E chain. The handlebars are a Zecure aluminium trekking model with a 35° backsweep, complemented by Ergon GP-1 grips for ergonomic comfort. The adjustable Zecure Up2+ stem and the integrated tapered headset complete the steering assembly.

Ryde Andra 40 rims and Schwalbe Marathon E-Plus tyres (50-622) have been chosen for the wheels; these provide puncture protection thanks to their SmartGuard technology. The hubs are Shimano MT400 at the front and MT410 at the rear, both fitted with CentreLock and thru-axles. Black Niro spokes with a diameter of 2 mm round off the bike’s design.

The Selle Bassano Suprema 3Zone City saddle and the BySchulz G2 seatpost with 30 mm travel offer a high level of comfort. Practical features such as Curana Apollo 60 mudguards, a Horn Catena 18 chain guard, a Pletscher Comp Flex 40 kickstand and an ABUS IT2.1 battery lock with an XPlus cylinder enhance the bike’s practicality.

The luggage rack is an i-Rack R-Series system rack with a spring-loaded flap, ideal for carrying luggage. The Futura HD I-12 is powered by a fourth-generation Bosch Performance CX motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 85 Nm. The Bosch Powertube battery has a capacity of 625 Wh and is charged using a Bosch 2A charger. The Bosch Intuvia display offers user-friendly control of the e-bike’s functions. With a reach of 421 mm and a stack of 634 mm, the bike offers balanced geometry for a comfortable ride.
