Hercules Futura Fold I-R8 Belt

The "Futura Fold I-R8 Belt" model from Hercules, launched in 2020, is a versatile e-bike that stands out for its high-quality features and well-thought-out design. The frame is made from R10-series aluminium, specially developed for urban use, and seamlessly integrates the Bosch Powertube battery, which not only ensures an attractive appearance but also enhances functionality. The bike’s maximum load capacity is 135 kg, whilst it weighs 22 kg, making it both stable and easy to handle.

Safety is ensured by Shimano MT200 hydraulic disc brakes, combined with BL-MT201 brake levers and a 160 mm front brake disc. Gear changes are operated via a Shimano Revoshifter, whilst the drivetrain is provided by the Gates CDX system with a 22-tooth sprocket. The rigid aluminium (AL 6061) fork contributes to the bike’s stability, whilst the adjustable stem with ‘All Up’ height adjustment allows for personalised comfort.

The lighting comprises a Hercules LED front light with up to 40 lux and an R121 rear light for the luggage rack, also LED-based. Practical features such as foldable pedals (VP-F55) and an i-Rack system luggage rack with a spring-loaded flap enhance the bike’s functionality. The Selle Royal LookIn Relaxed saddle and Ergo grips ensure a comfortable riding position.

The wheels are fitted with Schwalbe Big Apple tyres, which offer additional protection thanks to their RaceGuard technology. The hubs are from Shimano; the front hub is fitted with a quick-release mechanism and CentreLock, whilst the rear hub features a Shimano Nexus 8-speed gear system with a coaster brake.

The motor is a third-generation Bosch Active Plus with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 50 Nm. Power is supplied by a 400 Wh Bosch Powertube battery, which is charged using a Bosch 2A charger. The Bosch Intuvia display offers a user-friendly interface for controlling the e-bike system.

The model is rounded off by practical features such as a Massload two-leg stand, Curana Apollo mudguards and an ABUS battery lock with a Plus cylinder for added security.
