Hercules E-Imperial 180 S R5

The "E-Imperial 180 S R5" from Hercules, launched in 2021, is a high-quality e-bike that has been specially developed for use in urban areas and on trekking tours. Priced at 3,699 euros, it offers a wide range of features and technical refinements that make it an attractive choice for discerning cyclists. The frame is made of reinforced aluminium (AL6061), which not only gives the bike stability but also a maximum load capacity of 180 kg, whilst the bike itself weighs 28 kg.

Safety and control are ensured by the Magura HS22 hydraulic rim brakes, which, together with the Magura HS22 brake levers, guarantee precise braking performance. The fork, an SR Suntour NEX-E25, offers additional comfort on uneven roads thanks to its 63 mm travel and adjustability. Gear changes are controlled via the Shimano Revoshifter, which, in combination with the Shimano 27T sprocket and the KMC Z610 drivetrain, enables smooth gear changes.

The e-bike’s lighting is provided by a HERCULES FH 40 LED front light with up to 40 lux and a Busch & Müller 2C LED rear rack light, ensuring good visibility in the dark. The tyres are Schwalbe Marathon Plus with SmartGuard technology, renowned for their puncture resistance, fitted to Ryde Andra 40 rims.

Power is provided by a Bosch Performance Cruise GEN3 motor with an output of 250 watts and a torque of 65 Nm. The Bosch Carrier-type battery has a capacity of 500 Wh and is charged using a Bosch 2A charger. The Bosch Intuvia display provides the rider with all the necessary information at a glance.

Other features include an adjustable A-head stem, a Selle Bassano SUPREMA City saddle and Ergo grips with integrated clamps. The luggage rack is i-Rack-compatible and features an integrated battery mount. An AXA Victory lock ensures security, whilst mudguards from SKS and a chain guard from Horn Catena provide additional protection.
